This ALL WOOD MILW Caboose was built in 1889 in Wells, MN for $847.00 and was 30,000lbs and is very valuable do to its arch-bar trucks. In the 1920's this caboose along with 20 other cars plunged into the Beaver Dam Pond Near Fox Lake, WI with the conductor trapped inside. 6 hours later the caboose was pulled from the water and the conductor was not injured and lived. This caboose ended its days as A transfer caboose in Oshkosh, WI IN 1954. |
