Viewing Album:  An Orderly Trio

Album Info:While checking out one of my favorite trainspotting areas, the Indiana Harbor Belt Michigan Avenue Yard in East Chicago, IN, I noticed these three SW1500 switchers coming around the bend toward the yard with their cars to be classified. Much to my surprise, there were three switchers working a relatively short line and even more of a surprise, they were lined up in numerical order - 1510, 1511 and 1512. The only way it could have been more perfect is if IHB 1512 could have been facing the same way as its sisters! Must be the older sister in charge assigned to watch the other two!

Description:  How often do you get to see three units in numerical order in a lashup except leaving the assmbly plant? Just wish IHB 1512 could have turned around, at least for the photo op!

Description:  On closer inspection of the three sisters, can't help noticing the little differences that separate the triplets - fading pattern on the cabs, smokestack coloring, side window differences. Almost like the child's game of spotting the differences!

Description:  First time I have seen this trio working together as a team. Usually spot these switchers as singletons working various points in the yard or running hauls to points north and south.

Description:  Definitely the oldest looking one of the trio with its total faded cab. Engine hood looks like a repaint in the past but why not the cab at the same time?

Description:  With its partial cab fading, IHB 1511 looks like the middle sister. Bottom of the cab and the engine hood look like they were repainted not long ago but the upper cab left untouched at the time. Hmmmm, strange.

Description:  Looking the sharpest (or did she turn so the best side was visible) of the trio, IHB 1512 shows little cab fade like her trio sisters. Must be the one in charge since she is keeping a watchful eye on the other two!!!
