Description:  When the Rock was unjusifily close down 11 GP38-2s 4368-4379 went to the Grand Trunk Western. The were renumbered 5850-5861. There's no info on the slide, but it appears that these units have been delivered from the ROCK.

Title:  GTW GP38-2 #5856 - Grand Trunk Western
Description:  Built by EMD in November of 1978 as Chicago, Rock Island and Paciifc #4374, it was one of twelve that the Grand Trunk Western acquired from the ailing CRIP. It was repainted from the CRIP light blue to the red & blue GTW colors sometime between April & September of 1985. It still is in service as of January of 2020 when a recent photo was taken. This photo is by an unknown photographer.

The 13-car train was operating over the New Orleans Public Belt and would interchange cars with the NOPB at the later road’s COTTON WAREHOUSE YARD.
