SOU 2-8-0 #836 - Southern Rwy |
Description: |
Nice example of a Southern Rwy Consolidation built by Baldwin in 1906. Specifics - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 199,910 lb, tractive effort of 43,305 lb. Thanks to Andrew Durden (see comments below), additional info includes that this was an Atlanta shop rebuild with universal piston valves, Worthington SA-3 feedwater heater (almost totally hidden, but you can see the exhaust in front of the stack, and hot water pump under the smokebox), welded tank, larger sand dome and a Walschaerts valve gear.
