MILW 2-8-2 #392 - Milwaukee Road
Title:  MILW 2-8-2 #392 - Milwaukee Road
Description:  Sadly caught by an unknown photographer is the once proud Milwaukee Road 2-8-2 heavyweight Mikado #392 now sitting in the scrap line at the Bensenville Yard. It started out as CM&StP 2-8-2 # 8692 built by Alco-Schenectady in August of 1919. In 1938, it was renumbered MILW #392 as seen here. The loco was officially retired in November of 1954. This probably is the last photo ever taken of the loco before the scrapper's torch dismembered it. Specs - L3 Class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 320,000 lb, tractive effort of 62,949 lb.
