In the foreground on the right, IC 9612 is moving hoppers. A couple tracks east are GTW 4921 and three Wisconsin & Southern locomotives. The one immediately behind GTW 4921 is WAMX 4182 and one of the two others is WAMX 4192. I was unable to catch the number of the third. All three locomotives were being worked on, although I am not sure why they are up here in Neenah. Perhaps in preparation for Watco's Fox Valley and Lake Superior system? On the very far track is an old Wisconsin Central (ex-MILW) caboose - WC 16. |

The WSOR 30th Anniversary unit's special paint scheme has not aged well, with most of the nose and long hood decals peeled away or discolored. To add insult to injury, a mismatched all-gray door has been installed Rn the front conductor's side of the cab. Despite its less-than-stellar appearance, the former 4030 still earns its keep for WSOR's "new" (since 2012) parent company, Watco, as it pulls train T7 across Whitney Way bound for Prairie du Chien. |

Built by EMD in June of 1974 as UP #8007, it bounced around until landing finally as WSOR #4030. After the sale of the WSOR to the Watco Company, it was not repainted but renumbered WAMX 4183. |

The 30th Anniversary decals on WAMX 4183 (previously WSOR 4030, prior to that WSOR 4025 numbered/painted for that anniversary in 2005) held up reasonably well for 5-6 years, then started to look really bad around sometime in 2016. Either the short hood has recently been touched up, or the white goose logo that was originally on the nose has peeled off entirely. Underneath it all, the red and gray paint is still in good condition, so if they'd just paint that conductor's side door and scrape the decals all the way off it would look pretty good! |
