Here is a photo by Forrest W. Trittenbach of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #606, an A-5S (0-4-0) switcher built in Juniata during November of 1917 and retired in December of 1948 after 31 years of faithful service. Note that the bell, the headlight, and the main driving rods have been removed in preparation for movement to the Recycling Center. The exact date and the location are not recorded. At the right is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4632, an I-1SA (2-10-0)!"Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during October of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in January of 1931, and retired in January of 1960. It's become disabled and is actually being towed at the end of a northbound coal train into the Elmira Yards. Also visible is PRR N-5C cabin car #477859. At the left is PRR engine #3437, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as an H-8SB during January of 1913, rebuilt as an H-9S in August of 1923, and retired in December of 1957. It's waiting to tow engine #4632 to the roundhouse for repairs. Note that its main driving rods have been removed in preparation for movement to the Recycling Center.

WB. Here is an image of an official photo that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 17 October 1936. Shown here in the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata Shops complex is engine #3536, an H-9S built here in October of 1913 and retired in September of 1955 after 42 years of service. While suspended by a pair of gantry cranes, it's being lowered into a vat of lye. The lye will dissolve accumulated grease and other gunk, making it easier to perform periodic maintenance. William E. Photo Caption: "The only Juniata-built Consolidation type in Seashore service is Number 6072, Class H9s." Engine #6072 is an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as PRR number "3545" during November of 1913, renumbered PRSL "6072" in 1939, and renumbered PRR "9947" in 1949. Of special note, this locomotive was built with a Jacobs-Schubert firebox.
