The note on the back from the unidentified photographer reads "This eng in Readville for years. Taken from storage and used in movie "It Happened to Jane" w/Jack Lemmon, Ernie Kovacx and Doris Day in 1958. This is before eng. was repainted "Portand & Eastern" for movie.

Description:  Looking very much like a posed shot, Anthony H. Perles was able to capture a nearly full roundhouse collection posing at the Turcot Yard in Montreal, Canada. The roundhouse was demolished in 1962 and the yard reduced to only a few tracks with a massive road interchange built on the site to handle the car traffic through the area. The locos in the photo are left to right - CN 3424 (2-8-2). 3304 (2-8-2), 5282 (4-6-4), 46 (4-6-4T), 2567 (2-8-0) and 3488 (2-8-2).

Description:  This rugged looking 2-8-2 Mikado was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in July of 1924 and delivered as Canadian National #3578 (serial #65641, class S-2-c). The loco proved its worth from 1924 until being scrapped in April of 1959 after 35 years of hard and fast work. The loco was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in August of 1924 (serial #65658) and proved a faithful member of the roster until being scrapped in August of 1955 after nearly 31 years of service.
