This 2-8-2 Mikado steam locomotive was originally built to be used the St Louis, Brownsville & Mexico Railway under the guardianship of MP but eventually the loco ended up on the official MP roster The loco was rebuilt sometime along the way. No record of its final disposition could be found. No date was given for the photo so an approximate one was used. It served for nearly 28 years before being scrapped ion 9/21/1954 at the North Little Rock, AR, yard. No date was give for the photo so an approxiamte one was used. Built by Alco-Brooks in April of 1925 long before the later EMD GP15 wore the same number came along, this heavyweight 2-8-2 Mikado and its sisters served the Missouri Pacific well into the mid-1950's. MP #1565 mae it all the way to 6/15/1951 before being scrapped at North Little Rock, Arkansas.
