#800318 UTAH
Title:  #800318 UTAH
Description:  Built in 1948 by Budd in Lot #9613-007 as M&StL 56 seat chair #53, 1 of 6 such cars (#50-#55) built in that Lot, which was ordered in October 1944; cars were delivered in April 1948, and were originally equipped with a self-contained heating system for use with the Peoria Lines motorcars. In 1957, these cars were acquired by the CRI&P as #362-#367, with names applied; the #53 as #364 DUNCAN. 1 car was sold in 1968 to a scrap dealer, 1 car was sold in 1971 to a scrap dealer, 1 car was sold in 1973 to the Ashley, Drew & Northern RR, and the remaining 3 cars were retained by the Rock until the end of passenger service; at least the #364 was later increased to 64 seats. The #364 was later acquired by the private owner known as Casablanca Fan, who had it reconfigured to a buffet lounge and renamed CITY OF INDUSTRY. The parent company of the Rio Grande, ANSCO, later acquired this car as the IOWA, and it was later renamed UTAH. EXIF: 1:07 PM, f/4.6 @ 1/350
