According to the October 1971 ORER, this car was part of the 66100-66244 road number series built in August 1969. They were 60 foot (64 foot 5 inches outside length) long, 153,000 pound capacity, and had a cast steel underframe. There were two Notes listed: Note 21 - Cars in the 66000 to 66024 and 66100 to 66244 have inside length of 59 feet between inset end stake pockets and 60 feet over end sills, and inside width of 9 foot 4 inches between recessed stake pockets and 10 foot 6 inches over decking. Note 44 - Cars in series 1350 to 1414, 1415 to 1499, 2850 to 2864 62700 to 62949, 66100 to 66244, 67183 to 67232, 67550 to 67552, 67595 to 67599, and 390000 to 390194 are equipped with Freight Master Cushioning device, 10 inch travel. |
