Title:  CMO 504252
Description:  Closeup of the AutoPilot Friction Modifier System. This was developed to reduce the coefficient of friction on the wheel/rail interface to reduce the rolling resistance in the consist. From what I've found online this system has been testing since 2010 but this is the first train I've seen equipped so I don't know if it's considered a success or being used on more trains. I could not find any info if the lead car equipped with this gear was able to carry a coal load or if it is now a non-revenue car. If anyone has any info, please leave comments.
