In a mood shot at the New Hyde Park station, RF 91 arrives and prepares to switch a customer on the westbound track just east of the station. There is a long running track here east of the New Hyde Park Rd crossing that allows the power to reach several customers without having to use the main track for headroom, although they will leave most of their train on track 1 while they switch. Freight on this part of the railroad is done at night as there is less conflict with passenger runs. RF 91 usually runs west from Hicksville in the two hour gap between passenger trains that occurs from approximately 1 to 3 AM. |
