HOLDENVILLE OK July 10 1978 -- Frisco GP35 725 is the lead unit in a lashup that has cut off its southbound train and left it in the background north of the Rock Island crossing. The locomotives have a green signal at the diamonds to return to their train. The locos stopped at this location to meet Holdenville Fire Department personell so the 725 can get water from a handy fire hydrant. Fire department personnel (right) await arrival of a Frisco employee (center, on locomotive walkway) so the water can be transferred. EMD built the 725 in April 1965. After the merger with BN it became BN 2575. It was retired in July 1985. (Roster information from www.trainpix.com) |
