Well, not exactly. The rolling stock in this case is a GM product, but a Chevy and not an EMD. I had this plate for several years in the late 80s. I kept the combination-New York allows you the option of keeping your plate when the style changes, usually about every 15 years. It's mostly a revenue thing, since they charge for a special registration if you keep it-when New York changed to the "Liberty" plates with the Statue of Liberty on them later that year. I still have both of them. |
