PRR 8670, AS-18AM, #2 of 2, 1962
Everyday. Here is the second of two successive original photos that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 07 October 1962. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #8659 and #8670. Both are AS-18AM's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower each. They are pulling a mixed-cargo freight train and are about to pass by the Passenger Station on their way into the Hollidaysburg Yards. (The bicycle in the right foreground was my main means of transportation during my early days of train watching and photographing.)
