C&NW Menasha, WI Freight House
Looking northwest at the south end of the C&NW freight house adjacent to the CN, former C&NW, Neenah-Menasha yard at Menasha, WI on 15 Oct. '16. The depot/yard office (near the north end) and this freight house were built by the C&NW in 1965 at a cost of $15,000 and $400,000 respectively. The contractor was Consolidated Construction Co. of Appleton. The freight house is 552’ long and 50’ wide and could hold 11 freight cars inside. A 3,500 sq. ft. office was included on the southeast corner at Sanford St. The turnout and track leading into it (on the north end), as well as some yard tracks, were torn out in Sep. 2013. I do not know if they use the entire building, but the southern portion is currently home to FRSTeam by Gunderson. The portion of the building with the freight doors to the right is an addition, but I don't know when it was built.
