Harry Edmunds General The reason a BNSF SD70ACe is a DPU on this coal train is because this unit (9354) does not have an isolated cab. SD70ACe locomotives without isolated cabs are not permitted to lead BNSF trains. Other roads like CSX and NS don't have that prohibition so you will sometimes see a BNSF SD70ACe without an isolated cab leading on of their trains. BNSF says their rules are due to crew comfort and safety issues with the non-isolated cab SD70ACe locomotives. 11/4/2016 11:42:04 AM
