Here is page one of a four-page article by Frederick Westing entitled "Pennsy's Pluperfect Pacifics." It was published originally in the September 1957 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 52. Partially visible here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5699, a K-5 (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during March of 1929 and retired in September of 1953 after 24 years of faithful service. |
