| A CN local parallels the Fox River Navigation Canal and River St. as it approaches the junction with the former joint MILW/SOO rails at Menasha, WI on 2 Sep. '19. Simply Incredible Foods, 198 River St., looms in the background. Simply Incredible Foods purchased the defunct Menasha Municipal Utilities (Menasha Utilities) plant in Jun. '14. I’m not sure who these rails originally belonged to, the MILW, SOO, and C&NW all had access to this small, mostly industrial island for many years. This island was formed when the Fox River Navigation Canal was excavated ca. 1856 (when the lock was completed). |
