"Railroad" Magazine, April 1972         
Here is a photo taken by Mr. Jack Armstrong. It was published originally in the April 1972 issue of "Railroad" magazine, page 3. Photo Caption: "Penn Central No. 4601, class E-44, ex-New Haven, on the PC main line at Linden, N.J., two years ago." #4601 is an E33 (C-C) electric built by General Electric as Virginian Railroad number "131" in October of 1956, rated at 3,300 horsepower, acquired by the Norfolk & Western Railroad and renumbered "231," acquired by the New Haven Railroad and renumbered "300," absorbed by the Penn Central and renumbered "4601," absorbed by Conrail with the same number, and presently owned by the Illinois Railroad Museum in Union.
