Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on 12 October 1962. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9491, an FF-20 built by Fairbanks-Morse in December of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in December of 1963 after just 15 years of service. The riveted patch where the road number is painted hints at some sort of prior ~ though minor ~ damage. Collection of Bill Strassner. |
