Here is the ninth of ten original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken in the Juniata section of Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. This photo was taken in the storage yard at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Erecting & Machine Shop. Shown here are the firebox, ash pan, and trailing truck assemblies on the Fireman's side of PRR engine #6959, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during December of 1926 and retired in December of 1955 after 29 years of faithful service.
