| Here is the first of two photos from 4"x5" glass negatives by an unidentified photographer that were taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1895. Shown here is an exterior view of the Pennsylvania Railroad's Central Roundhouse, located near 9th Avenue & 12th Street. This could be a later view of this structure ~ i.e., after steam locomotives were no longer being serviced here, the roof stacks have been removed, and the rail entrance has been blocked. As usual, one man is working while eight others are supervising! |
