PRR 5423, K-4S, 1946
Harley. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Tom Harley that was taken in Englewood, Illinois, in November of 1946. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5423, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1927 and retired in November of 1957 after 30 years of faithful service. In this context, it's rockin' 'n' rollin' with an eastbound passenger train. ("PrrFan18n")
