PRR 4829, GG-1, c. 1947         
Here is the Association of American Railroads' stock photo #5827. Caption On Reverse: "An engineer and a conductor compare watches before beginning their run." The engineman is Mr. W.J. Kepner and the conductor is Mr. W.L. Walzer. They're on Train #29, the Chicago-bound "Broadway Limited" that's about to depart from Pennsylvania Station in New York City. The locomotive is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4829, a GG-1 (2-C-C--2) built in Juniata during June of 1935, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and retired in April of 1968 after 33 years of faithful service. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. John S. Fisher Collection; #39 of 44.
