Great Northern depot - Fargo, ND
Built in 1906, the Romanesque style depot was designed by St Paul architec t Samuel Bartlett, a friend of James J. Hill, the founder of the Great Northern railroad. Amtrak took over the building in 1971 but eventually moved into a smaller newer building. Magic City Financial Group bought the depot in 1994 and developed it into the Great Northern Restaurant and Brewery in late 1995. II failed so in 1998 the Great Northern Restaurant and Brewery opened but then closed 6 months later. Several more restuarant tried their luck but ended closed. Does anyone know what the building is now? Eric Berg photo
