Great action shot of MILW 4-6-0 #1080 pulling a few passenger cars into Calmar, Iowa. The loco was originally built as CM&StP Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #359 by Baldwin in September of 1900. Iu had many numbers through its 54 years of service - renumbered in 3/1907 to #1709, renumbered in 9/1912 to #4309, renumbered and simplified in 3/1921 to #2859, renumbered in 6/1938 to #1080. The loco was scrapped in September of 1954. No photographer was listed. |
