Baera 2. Here is the first of three successive photos by an unidentified photographer that were taken from the 17th Street Bridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1951. Shown here the first two of the three unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad steam locomotives pulling a mail and express train. In this context, they're about to cross over from Track 3 to Track 1 on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Pittsburgh. All things being equal, these two locomotives will be uncoupled at Gallitzin and will return to East Altoona for their next assignments.
