AMTK #164 in the Phase 4 scheme, , along with Charger #332 and #20 leading the Crescent toward NYC on a beautiful Autumn morning. This station was built by William DuPont, Sr. for his own use as a flag stop on the Southern RY. During the time he lived at Montpelier ~1901 - 1928, he would leave his office in Wilmington, DE on Fridays and ride the train to his Montpelier home. Southern RY would then pick him up on Monday mornings for the return trip to his Wilmington office. |
