Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Asbury Park, New Jersey, on 20 October 1957. The photographer is not identified. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #612, a K-4SA (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata as a K-4S during April of 1917, later equipped with a front-end throttle and reclassified as a K-4SA, and retired in April of 1958 after 41 years of service. It's powering a steam excursion sponsored by the Branford Electric Railway Association. |
