The formal parlor at the end of the car next to the open vestibule afforded a beautiful view of the countryside as the car rolled along. After the sale to Wm Stevens in 1925 and the massive rebuild of the car, this original wooden business car took on a new and glamorous life. When it reached retirement in the 1950's, it was eventually acquired by the Soo Line when they purchased the MN&S line. It sat in storage until 1984 when the Minnesotra Transportation Museum bought it for the small sum of $2,500. It was moved back to the site of its major rebuild - the Jackson Street roundhouse - and to a restored and preserved life! |
