| 2.2.2024 Mechums River VA. Because AMTK 157 on the eastbound Cardinal had to wait in the passing siding at Afton for a CSX empty grain train to pass, I was able to get down the mountain and meet it at Mechums River. It was running at 60mph to keep to its advertised. The stack of creosote ties to the left waiting to be hauled away is the remains of the walkway attached to the bridge over Mechums River that was replaced with a metal grate walkway. Signal 192 peeks above the pile of derietis. |
