| 3.11.2024 CSX 707 on the lead of an enemy coal car consist as it crosses the Mechum River Bridge west of Charlottesville, VA. From here the next 12.3 miles is a climb up the steep Blue Ridge grade to the Blue Ridge Tunnel. Even with 220+ empty coal cars, this train will be slowed to ~25mph by the time it hits the tunnel, down 1/2 the speed of when I photographed it. |
