Santa Fe U30CG #8001 at Denver |
Description: |
#8001 and all the units were originally painted with the warbonnet paint scheme. The old paint is making a comeback - especially on this engine. |

Santa Fe U30CG units at Denver |
Description: |
Santa Fe ordered six U30CG units from GE for passenger service (#400-405). They were built in November 1967. From what I have read they didn't last long. Two of the units derailed in Feb 1969 and the Santa Fe pulled them from passenger service. They remained in freight service till 1980 when they were traded in to GE. #8001-8002 were in this consist at Denver. |

Description: |
Santa Fe U30CG 8001 (a former passenger diesel, ex-401) leads two SD45s and a U36C on a very short westbound San Bernardino to Los Angeles local (which will, no doubt, pick up more cars before it gets to LA). |
