CN 4-6-2 #5572 - Canadian National |
Description: |
Standing patiently with its passenger train at the interesting Chesley station is Canadian National 4-6-2 Pacific #5572. Built originally as Grant Trunk Rwy #236 by the Montreal Locomotive Works in January of 1913, it landed on the CN roster as CN 5572 (serial #51915, class K-3-a) during the 1923 railroad reorganization. The loco was scrapped in January of 1959 after serving faithfully for 46 years. No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo but the station sign makes location id easy. Bruce Gemmel filled in the other missing pieces of info - Don Woods photo taken 7/24/1957. Thanks for the help, Bruce! |
